| The
California Quality System |
| With the California
Quality System for inshell walnuts, the so-called IQ System,
the problem of cracked or broken nuts harvest early no longer
exists. There is no longer a need to wait until the harvest.
|
 |
The red DFA seal is a guarantee of quality. The Dried Fruit
Association’s (DFA) official certificate of inspection is only
issued for those inshell walnuts, which pass the strictest of
inspections. With the Sorter IQ System and the official red
seal of the DFA, you can be certain that the walnuts are of
the best quality. |

| Every
Walnut sorter device has a length of eight meters and is equipped
with thousands of small pins. All nuts, which are whole and
immaculate (one), roll through the device and are ready for
further preparation. |
 |
Split and broken
nuts (two) are fed out and are transported upwards on the side
of the device. If walnuts have reached the upper end of the
device (three), they are removed from the conveyor belt.
Whereas USDA standards allow up to 10% of split nuts, our inshell
nuts average only 1% of shell leftovers… |
